It?s official. Norwalk Furniture Corp. is history. While talks continue to sell the 106-year-old company, Chairman Jim Gerken announced Tuesday that all layoffs from the old company are permanent. If the company is sold, former Norwalk Furniture employees would have to be hired by the new owners.

At least two principals in Norwalk City Schools are pleased to hear the Norwalk Teachers' Association (NTA) and school board have reached a tentative agreement.

SPORTS - Firelands Conference teams enjoy fast start (Norwalk Reflector)

With the non-league schedule out of the way for area teams, let's see how the three local conferences fared. Leading the way is the Firelands Conference with a combined record of 15-9. The Northern Ohio League came in at 13-11, while the Sandusky Bay Conference finished 10-14.
